Tea Party Patriots Respond to Commissioner Aaronson

At the Palm Beach County Commission meeting of May 19, 2009, Suzanne Squire, a single working mom, took off time from work to go to the Palm Beach County Commission Meeting. Suzanne, once allowed to address the Commission, said that the spending was unsustainable and then referenced famous pioneer and Congressman David Crockett, who said “the money belongs to the taxpayers!” Suzanne Squire also mentioned that she attended the Tea Party Protest on April 15, 2009, when over three thousand citizens protested the bailouts and excessive overspending by the government at the very same building where the meeting was being held. Commissioner Aaronson responded by asking why the “Tea Party people” made it to the Tea Party, but couldn’t make it to the Commission meeting!

At the June 2, 2009 Commission meeting, Mark Martin, a South Florida Tea Party member addressed the Commisioners about taxes and spending and at the end he explained why the Tea Party Protesters were not at the prior meeting. This was his response:

We thank you, Mark and Suzanne, for taking the time to get involved and letting your voices be heard!

I had no idea Mark was doing this. Outstanding, once again, we find a courageous person taking on the commissioners. I am so….proud of you, Mark.
This had to be tough – speaking while waiting to be interrupted by Aaronson or one of the other commissioners and as we see, exactly that happened!!! They are not used to dissent and anyone questioning their decisions. Notice that it was Aaronson and no one else that found it necessary to speak up and try to hurry his remarks along and shove him out the door.

  2. Bob Winterton says:

I simply want to say THANK YOU Mark.

  3. Sharon Taylor says:

This was exactly what we all need to do. We may not all be able to appear same day, but maybe we should each research an issue and bring it to a meeting and speak. Then sign off as just another member of the TEA PARTY PEOPLE. Way to go.

  4. Mark —

Fine job, sir. See you on Tuesday.

What an impressive presentation, Mark! You were so well prepared. Thank you from all of us!

  6. Wow, that was wonderful, and no teleprompter in sight. I would be happy to attend a meeting and offer my support. It would appear that Commissioner Aaronson isnt any more fond of people questioning the job he is doing or how he is spending our tax money than the current President.
