The South Florida Tea Party is uniting with other Tea Party groups across the country next month for a march on Washington.

Sept. 12, we’re taking our feet to the street and strolling in front of Capitol Hill to tell our representatives in Congress to stop the spending.

Here’s the tentative agenda for the trip:

Sept. 10

Morning: Liberty Summit with select congressmen and senators.

Afternoon: Grassroots visits with representatives and senators. To set up an appointment with a congressman or senator, e-mail Andrew Moylan of the National Taxpayers Union at

Evening: Free time; enjoy how you wish.

Sept. 11:

9 a.m.: Meet at the Sept. 11 Never Forget Memorial.

Afternoon: Grassroots leadership training and grassroots activism seminars. There may be a separate charge for some of the services provided.

Evening: Enjoy finger foods with the South Florida Tea Party, or attend the FreedomWorks dinner (there is a charge).

Sept. 12:

8 a.m.: Volunteers set up stages.

9:30 a.m.: Line up for the march; locations to be announced.

10:30 a.m.: March begins and ends at the U.S. Capitol Building.

1 p.m.: Protest rally on the U.S. Capitol lawn.
